About Ramsay Fitness

Ramsay Fitness co-founders Jack and Daniel originally started out their careers in fitness as Personal Trainers however they quickly noticed that they had amassed a loyal following of dedicated clients. Having previously worked in a traditional gym, the brothers wanted to create a space that focused on group exercise, with an emphasis on HIIT and circuit training.

Their idea quickly became a reality and in July 2019, the brothers opened Ramsay Fitness. Although they are new to the boutique fitness scene, the studio already has a sizeable community of 700 members. Their success, Jack says, has come from providing members with a personalized experience

“Glofox has helped us get off to a phenomenal start. We predicted it would take our business a solid 12 months to get off the ground and start to see some profit from total revenue whereas in actual fact, we broke even in Week One and have seen increasing profits in our business every single week since!”

The challenge? Finding Software That Could Provide a Boutique Experience

Jack and Daniel were aware of the shortcomings of the traditional gym that they had worked in throughout their time as Personal Trainers and were drawn to the concept of boutique fitness where they felt their members could benefit from more personalized and results-driven classes. With much of their business’s financial success dependant on recurring and loyal members, the brothers identified member experience as the element which they would need to focus on:

“We didn’t want to be another typical, traditional gym with hordes of members coming in and out and not knowing our members’ names or goals. Developing a sense of community is important to us, where our members feel like they are part of something!”

However, with member experience as a priority, along with the requirement for a fully-branded standalone app, the Ramsay brothers were directed towards Glofox:

How Has Glofox Helped?

Glofox has been key in helping Jack and Daniel monitor the growth of their rapidly-evolving business by providing them with actionable insights on members, trials, and revenue. Glofox reports, both on the Staff App and on the Dashboard, ensures that all members of the team are on the same page and provides quick and easy access to studio metrics.

“My team and I use the staff app every single day whilst on the floor. It’s ideal for completing admin throughout the day, providing us with important client metrics and a quick overview of revenue. When I get to my laptop, the dashboard in my first port of call and I can analyze our progress and then decide what actions to take to continue growing.”

With member experience as a priority, maintaining a high level of contact with all members is important. With the brothers sharing the roles of receptionist, coach, personal trainer and everything in between, they needed a solution that would be quick and easy to use. The Glofox member app provided a way to reach their members at speed.

“We make sure that each of our members has a good experience with us at Ramsay Fitness. When I see a new-sign-up, I’ll send them a message through the app saying I’m looking forward to seeing them. The same goes for follow-ups, or if our report shows someone has missed a few classes we can message them and ensure that no member slips through the cracks.”

Jack and Daniel were always confident in their offering however they knew that there was more to a successful fitness business than that. To ensure their members attended regularly booking needed to be convenient.

“Having our own app is a major reason we’re doing well. It gives our business a level of professionalism and means our members can book into our classes in seconds.”

What’s Next for Ramsay Fitness?

Ramsay Fitness is still in its infancy having just passed the 3-month mark however, after an exceptionally strong start, the team is already expanding with the addition of two new trainers.
